The Strength of Tradition

Giacomini O.M. was founded in 1957 in Gravellona Toce (North West Italy – close to the Swiss Alps) by Virgilio Giacomini along with his sons Renato and Sergio. The company, in its early years, specialized in design and manufacture of Derrick cranes and lifting machines used in the Serizzo quarries in mountains of the local region.

Giacomini O.M. contributed significantly to the very important evolution of Derrick Cranes from the old wood structures to the ones in steel. Encouraged by the initial success in the market, Giacomini O.M. expanded its product range to design and produce other lifting equipment, like gantry and overhead cranes, etc. While continuing to maintain its close ties to the stone sector, the company has over time, extended its presence in a wide spectrum of sectors including pipes, container, waste handling, Hydel Energy etc., wherever handling of heavy materials required.

The company’s growth was further accelerated by its move to a new production facility in the Industrial Area of Gravellona Toce, which has four industrial building and an Office Block equipped with the most modern production tools required for customized material handling solutions provided by us. Continuing in the tradition of the Giacomini family for three generations, today the company is managed by Paolo Giacomini and his wife Sara Crosa Lenz.

Our Technical and Design offices are equipped with state-of-art software and tools to develop solutions for the most complex design challenges from our customers around the world and across various sectors. The generations of experience gained by Giacomini, enable our design team to customize modern technological solutions to various challenges of the stone sector.

We believe that Design is the most critical aspect of our production. Each new customer requirement is an independent and the Giacomini engineers find the best solution to ensure optimum performance also with heavy loads, in complete safety and for the entire product life cycle. An important Design consideration is the place and conditions in which the machine is going to work.

Over 60 years Giacomini has offered its customer’s personalized attention. Each material handling solution is a perfect synergy between understanding customer needs, our design experience and the operating flexibility of the Technical Office. All of these play a role of primary importance in delivering a superior customer experience.

Technology and experience

Giacomini Officine Meccaniche creates its products through a strictly controlled process in all the phases based on the experience: production is developed in the different departments of the Gravellona Toce headquarters on a site of 6000 m2.

We adhere to industry best practises in each phase of our manufacturing process from design, raw material selection, steel sourcing, workshop for the production of the mechanical componentsstructural steelwork shop, pre-assembly department, painting, storage and final delivery. All the working processes throughout the manufacturing cycle, are executed with extreme care, precision and passion, thanks to the professionalism and the competence of our specialised personnel.

Our work shop is equipped with the most modern as well as traditional machines and tools to enable us to conform to production process in line with the company tradition and philosophy. This not only enables us to guarantee the best in class product quality, but also have the flexibility to provide parts to our machines supplied generations ago.

"Turn Key" supply

The team also guarantees complete after-sales assistance, both for ordinary maintenance and for extraordinary work, including mechanical and electronic spare parts. Operating efficiency and immediate reply times complete the service.

On request, we also provide turn-key solutions including machine installation. The highly delicate phase of installation is managed by specialised teams that follow all the operations, from transport to final assembly on site, in any part of the world. The high quality manufacturing process in our plant coupled with the high level of experience and professional competence of the installation engineers guarantee a perfect assembly, installation and commissioning of the machine. We also provide complete after-sales assistance to our customers, both for ordinary maintenance and for extraordinary work. Our after-sales team is supported by immediate attention and response from our technical office, ready availability of mechanical and electronic spare parts in stock, and a Customer First culture to minimise the turnaround times for our customers.
